For over 30 years, The Big Issue Group have been providing support and services to the most marginalised people across the country helping them back to work.
The Big Issue’s frontline teams and fleet of 16 vans cover 350,000 miles annually, transporting more than two million magazines to 3,300 vendors. From Ullapool through Newcastle, to Lowestoft, to London and Birmingham and over to Penzance and Fishguard. It’s a huge operation and they rely heavily on their transport fleet to not only deliver magazines to vendors but so they can provide vital support services as well.
THE MOVE TO ELECTRIC
As UK cities move towards greater sustainability, so does Big Issue Group. In their fight to end homelessness they are committed to operating in a cleaner, greener way.
Last year saw our ‘Driving Change for Good’ partnership with The Big Issue launched, with Citroën UK supplying Big Issue with electric vans to replace their existing diesel fleet, delivering essential support and magazines to their vendors.
In the first phase of going electric, a combination of ë-Berlingo Van and ë-Dispatch models have been rolling out in the South-West, Dorset, East Anglia, Leicester, London and the North-east, with more being added in coming years.
